Eric Chen’s CAS Journey – Mid Mar. 2021 Edition

So continuing on the long-term fitness program, here are the progress from the first two weeks of March.

I could only complete one session due to the fact that I was extremely busy during the first two weeks of March. Monday, 3/1, and Friday, 3/12 were holidays, while I was waiting for an interview to occur for a future podcast (see below) during the sessions that were supposed to occur on Thursday 3/4 and Monday 3/8. (That interview didn’t happen, though due to the interviewee’s poor time management. Very sad.) The session that was supposed to occur on Thursday 3/11 was hampered by an impeding math exam. I was preparing for that exam the entire long break in fear of receiving a poor grade on the exam. (Hard work did pay off though, as I felt extremely confident after the test was over) I promise that I will stick to my schedule for the rest of the month.

On the other hand, I got another chance to do another Service-orientated CAS experience with GIN Club.

Every March 16 is My Freedom Day, sponsored by CNN as a student-driven event to raise the awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking. These two events significantly undermine the human rights to live a free life, and it is our duty to preserve our rights to a free life without any restraints. With that being said, I have created a podcast (yes! Another podcast for KASPER!) featuring students and teachers who treat freedom very seriously to show the importance of living a free life. To me, I believe that freedom is a fundamental human right in this modern world, and this podcast is very crucial as a service experience due to the fact that this is a great way to raise awareness on slavery of any kind as well as human trafficking, both of them being issues and unacceptable practices that we should eradicate as soon as possible. That’s also the main reason why My Freedom Day exists. I’m extremely proud that I’m a part of this awareness effort that can shine a bright light on these humanitarian crises.

I plan to release the podcast on the day of the My Freedom Day so check back on that date for the podcast!

Update: I have uploaded the podcast on Youtube! You can listen to it below.
