Final CAS Blog Post and Reflection on Long-Term Fitness Plan

Well, time flies when you’re having fun. This is the last CAS blog post that I will ever post on my blog! In this post, I will be reflecting on my long-term CAS experience, as well as my two-year CAS journey as a whole.

Before I reflect on them though I need to update yall on my long-term CAS experience throughout the month of March.

To be honest, I believe that my long-term fitness plan was a failure due to insufficient planning and lack of perseverance. This was especially present towards the end of this program because of the build-up of school work and exams. I am aware that working out is a great way to relieve stress, but unfortunately, I did not take that into account throughout the past few months. As such, I did not allocate more time out of these stressful times to complete more sessions each day as a means to relieve some stress as well as achieve my intended goal to lose some weight. In addition, I did not take this opportunity to develop some other workout methods to help me lose weight, which is something I really regretted from this CAS experience. I just stuck with my usual workout routine, and that was one of the major reasons why my long-term fitness plan was a failure. Doing so would have definitely helped me on my weight-loss journey, and to achieve the CAS objective to explore new possibilities. I also was not able to maintain my commitment to this particular experience because throughout this program I just decided to complete sessions whenever I feel like it. These sessions were supposed to be completed on a daily basis, yet this plan was not followed along the way. All of the aforementioned reasons combined were the reasons why I believe this long-term fitness plan was a failure, and if there’s a chance for me to improve it I would definitely identify ways to modify my current workout routines and show perseverance throughout the program in order to achieve my goals.

On the other hand, in the February blog post, I have discussed my plans to enhance the senior Q&A session for current juniors as they started their college application process that took place this past Wednesday. The final product was a video that resembled a DirecTV commercial that I really enjoyed. Well, I am pleased to report that the juniors really enjoyed watching that video and that it has enhanced their experience throughout the session! Even the other senior participants believed that this session we helped contributed was way better than the one we participated in when we were juniors! The video is linked below.

Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey of CAS throughout the past two years. I was able to develop new skills and contribute to the school community thanks to a wide variety of experiences that I proposed and completed, and continue to grow as a person through these activities. I am certainly grateful for this opportunity for me to grow and develop as a balanced and globally-minded person.
