For preparation we practiced on one point and two point perspective with letters we also practiced in the process journal drawing shops in one point and two point perspective. I drew the bridge and train with a pencil first, then I painted the sky with blue and added little strokes of green, purple, and orange.

In my work my lines were not very straight because I didn’t use a ruler on most of the things. My shape were from the bridges and train. There was space in the bridge between the lines. My texture came from the details in the train. There were was different colors in the sky. I made the front of the bridge bigger to make it look like it is more in the front and that gave it value. I think my artwork has the quality of color and space I think I can improve on the detail to make it have more texture. The color and space

Final Draft Reflection–Summative D–Pattern Tile – Evelyn Chao

For this project we did designs and shapes on a 15 by 15 slab. We started out with cutting the clay with a wire cutter to make it a smaller piece of clay. After the clay is cut, I made the clay flat with 1.5 – 2 as a thickness. I chose the shape square because it was very basic and simple to carve shapes onto it. I carved a checkerboard pattern and wave patterns with some little curves to make it more detailed. I created the patterns with the needle tool and a carving tool.

I think my patterns were too simple and could have been more different. I think the hardest design to do was the checkerboard because I had to make the texture by carving the clay out of certain parts of the clay.
