Dystopia unit

In this unit, I learnt many new things that I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t taught in class. We had to do many interesting things like read a new book about dystopia, and create a perfect society.

For the book reading, we had to finish it by fifteen days and that made me manage my time better as i needed to plan when to start reading. Every night after reading, we had to write something about what we read. It made me more aware of what was happening in the book as I usually skip some informations whenever I read a book. After the fifteen days, our groups gathered together to answer and ask questions about the book. I learnt many new interesting things about the book. After reading, we had to annotate a short dystopia story, then create a mind map to compare the similarities and differences about both the short story and the story book.

Finally, we had to create a perfect society. We had to create the laws, flags, maps, and many other things needed in a community. It was fun and a little hard. We then had to present them in groups and I saw many interesting communities in my group.

Overall, this unit was interesting since we got to read a new book, create a community, and learn more about dystopia and utopia.
