GRASPS! A Serious Presentation Reflection

GRASPS! That was pretty awful. Our presentation (lesson) ended in a controversy. The 30 minutes lesson…. Anyways, we did poorly when presenting our lesson out, clearly we didn’t finish organizing everything before submitting it. We didn’t even notice that we needed to include our conclusion in our presentation! We didn’t include our conclusion in our presentation because we think that was unnecessary and prevented it from becoming a scientific lab report presentation, not an educational lesson. All of our team members contributed on the presentation and lab experiment, where I brought in cardboards and screw drivers, and Antonio borrowed screw from Mrs. George. (Unfortunately, the school didn’t have screw drivers. 🙁 ) After brought in the materials, we started doing the experiment, where I did the testing while other teammates helped. Unfortunately, we screwed up some trials as the drilled hole becomes larger and larger. I do not take care of the lab write-up document. After testing, I just record the data on the slides. I was supposed to calculate the amount of work done and its mechanical advantage, however, I did not calculate the amount of work because it was too difficult to calculate in this situation, and Antonio had already calculated the mechanical advantage of all 3 kinds of screws. If we really needed to calculate the amount of work done when screwing the screw in, then it would have been a huge challenge for me. However, this was canceled after finding that we’ve missed too many calculations required to calculate the amount of force done. Thus, it was unusable. After all, we all found that presenting is a huge challenge for us. Our contents have been criticized by Mr. Meuret, and I was having trouble paraphrasing the conclusion in order to explain our conclusion to him. Luckily, he managed to figure out that our conclusion was. Actually, I won’t forget that stupid experience, because everyone laughed when I was having trouble paraphrasing the conclusion. For our presentation, we didn’t think that we did great on this. We’ve done it poorly because of that disorganization.
