For the TIEA summative, I did a short summary about the main problem that Thaddeus, the main character of the book “The Defense of Thaddeus A. Ledbetter” has. He did lots of inferior defenses, making him to be put inside ISS. He thought this was unfair, since he thinks that his actions were to help people to improve their lives.

In The Defense of Thaddeus A. Ledbetter by John Gosselink, Thaddeus always stood up to defend himself, since he always think that he’s been mistreated. Throughout this book, Thaddeus submits several very detailed defenses to Mr. Cooper, his principal, about what he had done and how he’s been mistreated. “Anyway, since both of you insist on being involved, let me explain. Truth be told, this accusation is a crime against justice even worse than the slug-bug incident.” (Gosselink, p. 80) Since Thaddeus always think that he’s been mistreated with In-School Suspension, he wrote many detailed defenses during his ISS hours to submit to his uncle Pete (a lawyer) and Mr. Cooper. They examined these defenses very carefully, and they found out that Thaddeus is really being mistreated. Whether he thinks that he’s been mistreated, he always write a detailed defense to submit to all involvers to prove that he’s been mistreated by ISS and hopefully he will get out of ISS after they’ve read all of his submitted defenses.

I also did a discussion with some of my classmates. We discussed about the “The Defense of Thaddeus A. Ledbetter” book, and Anthony did a full-length time-line, which was very cool. We tried to avoid any digressions, which was pretty successful, and that made our discussion the best one in this unit.
