Population Trend: Red Slender Loris and Horton Plains Slender Loris

Save the Red Slender Loris and the Horton Plains Slender Loris now! Due to habitat loss, its population has declined >80% for the last 200 years and will decline >20% in the next 20 years!

To prevent this species from extinction, we must restore its original habitat —- replant montane trees in southern parts of Sri Lanka, where these lorises live. This may help reintroduce the amount of lorises that were lost in the past years and help them to be rank up to vulnerable in the IUCN Red List. If we don’t save them now, it will probably go extinct in the next fifty years. So take action to save this exotic species now!

  1. Did the amount of the Red Slender Loris increase now or it is keep decreasing ?

    1. Sadly, the amount of red slender lorises are still decreasing due to illegal hunting, habitat loss, … etc.
