The First Bite
Description: This poem is written in dialogue form, using an extended metaphor as well as an allegory to the first sin. I’ve been reading many bible stories and writing poems about the motifs and themes of biblical stories. However, it also has the meaning of falling into depression, letting go of your morals and your learnings after life throw all its poorly crafted lousiness at you. The sweet apple is procrastination and giving up, and these days, it entices so sweetly. It’s also an allegory to my own service based experiences, where although I was helping different people, it felt… disingenuous, almost like I was doing it purely for CAS. In the sense that it was selflessness for selfishness.
