New Species Discovery!

Wow! A pair of 3rd graders have discovered a new species while going for an adventure in the woods! They couldn’t describe the appearance and the name of the species to the public without having me as the designer for the model. After printing the model out in 3D, then the discoverers can now display it to the public! Using TinkerCAD to create a 3D model is always the best choice, and in fact, even though the models haven’t been printed just yet due to a printer issue, the models already looked great on the computer! Want to check them out right now? Of course, you do!

Note: Only the first model, the actual model of the new species, is printed. The second environment model and the third playmate model, which are both requested by the discoverers, are not printed due to time issues.

Want to know how I went through the process of creating all those models in 3D? Check out the process journal below!

Of course, due to the fact that the 3rd graders were specifying the design of the models, interviews are required. Here are the questions used as part of our first interview, which was all about the aspects of the new species.

Why were all of your reflections in a document? Why not do it in another way?

That’s why I decided to use Slides for this unit’s reflection! Check it out!
