In light of the NOVA business competition happening in January next year in Taipei, interested students are encouraged to come up with a t-shirt design that we can wear collectively as a group to represent KAS on the trip. Since this t-shirt is unofficial, no official slogans and logos can be used as they need to be approved by the organization. This, however, means that we can get as creative as we want with these tshirts!! Below is the draft I have for now. I added the red borders at the sleeves to add a sense of vibrancy. It looks pretty nice to me regardless!

My creativity was put into new use as I tried to map out a design for this tshirt. Designing for tshirts was a rather unfamiliar kind of creative expression for me as I’ve never tried it before. Unlike grand paintings or drawings where art is drawn in delicate details, tshirts are aimed for a simpler aesthetic to cast a stronger impression among the audience. Designing shirts are also slightly different from simply painting as you need to take both the aesthetics and the public appeal into consideration, because the tshirt is designed for not just you but a group of people. This is a very interesting challenge I’ve undertaken, and through this activity I felt more confident in my artistic abilities in designing shirts in the future.
