For this poetry unit, we’ve accomplished several summatives. One of which was an independent poetry reading performance of a poem we’ve chosen. We’re required to read the poem dramatically out loud, then briefly state the reason why we like it. The second summative of the unit was a poem annotation. Then, we wrote a TIEA analyzing the literary device or voice in the poem we were given. Finally, we wrote and performed two poems on our own (personal poetry & memoir poem), and wrote a TIEA comparing our poem to one of the poems we read in class to wrap up the unit.
