Greenhouse lab effect experiment

Question
can a cup with a transparent lid trap more heat than a cup without a transparent lid?

Hypothesis
a cup with a transparent lid can trap more heat than the one without the lid because it acts like a greenhouse. the heat can get in but the transparent lid keeps the heat from escaping.

Results

Conclusion
my hypothesis is correct. the cup with a lid trapped more heat than the cup with no lid. the cup with a lid is hotter than the cup without the lid by 2 degrees.

in the experiment, we had 1 heat lamp and we put both of the cups under the lamp at the same time. we started a timer for 15 minutes. we checked the thermometer every 1 minute. the end result for the one with a lid is 32 degrees. the one with no lid is 30 degrees. so the one with a lid rose 2 degrees.

the cup with lid was able to trap more heat than the one with no lid because it is how greenhouse works. plastic are insulators, so they have low conductivity, so thats why when heat passes through plastic, they get trapped.
