Sometimes turning tools on their head leads to new ideas of how to use them. Take Google Slides for example.
Google Slides is a useful presentation app that makes it easy to create, collaborate, and share presentations. It has ways of manipulating text that Google Docs does not have. You can make text boxes, word art, as well as layer objects that make it similar to Microsoft Publisher.
What if Slides was used to make documents instead of presentations?
Students of any age are able to create documents that reflect student voice and match the message of their work.
For the Grade 5C autobiography project, Gene chose Slides as the tool to publish with for all the above reasons.
When the autobiographies had been published, the Grade 5C’s shared their work with other with other classes by reading with them in the Media Center.
