On Xmas Eve, I traveled to Taipei with a couple of my friends and ice-skated. It was an extremely pleasant and tiring day, and we all had tons of fun. I’ve never ice-skated before, so I was very nervous and excited at the beginning. But it turned out to be quite similar to rollerskating, so I was able to quickly get the hang of it. Since the ticket is for a two-hour session, I was soon bored out by the repetitive basic moves, so I tried to self-learn some moves and tricks from following the experts there. The whole ice-skating experience instantly became so much more challenging and fun! It was like learning ice skating all over again and reentering the ice skating field with the excitement and nervousness I had twenty minutes ago. After jiggling for a while, I was able to pick up crossovers, backward skating, and even a gourd-like move I saw some of the coaches doing. I fell a couple of times, once even without any protective equipment on, but it was so fun 100/10 would want to ice skate again!!
This experience definitely taught me to be a risk-taker and step outside my comfort zone more often. You’ll find unexpected fun along the way!
