On the night before Halloween, the long awaited festival characterized by the walking zombies, spooky spider webs, and big-nosed witches KAS student council put up a grand fest with elaborate decorations in the lobby, and of course, held a series of exciting activities.

Weeks before Halloween, StuCo members have been enthusiastically informing students of this once-in-a-year event. Since then, they increasingly put in their best efforts into the preparatory work in order to make the night an unforgettable one for all. Student council worked with art club to create the haunted house. The scarers included members of art club, volunteers from school and workers from STUCO. Certainly, it was a memorable night filled with fearful screams and startled faces.

Halloween night first hit off with “The Babadook”, a highly acclaimed horror movie released in 2014. After getting seated with pizzas and coke ready, and lights turned off, everyone was excited for the soon-to-come thrilling experience. As the movie moved into the climax, where the helpless mother and son are horribly traumatized by the sinister monster, the room was  filled with penetrating screams. Finally, after what seems like a long spine-chilling ride, it was time to move on to the next adventure.

Next came the highlight of the night. Everyone waited patiently in line for the tradition of Halloween—The Haunted House. The haunted house took place in the backstage of the Auditorium, where everything was in absolute darkness. People traveled in small groups, and their hands held tight. Members of STUCO were dressed and painted as ghosts, and scared off everyone passing with their stretching hands and eerie looks.

The task for entering the haunted house was to rescue the kidnapped STUCO president—Johnny Lee. After passing the various obstacles that left everyone gasping and horrified, each participating group found the key to save the STUCO president, and got out successfully.

The night was one filled with screams and terrified faces, but laughter and fun definitely surpassed the former. Shout out to STUCO for their great effort that made it a wonderful experience for all.

Thanks you STUCO for your amazing effort that made this year’s Halloween rock!
