Everyday Math for Parents and Students

I am so happy that KAS has purchased the new math curriculum EVERYDAY MATH.  It is an amazing program made especially for a child’s brain plus it has so many resources for teachers to make math interesting, fun, practical and relative to the real world we live in.  This is the second year of the program, and I am sure we will be able to see student improvement in math.
Parents can explore this website.  We will learn the units in order.  For example, now we are learning about Unit 1.
Students have a username and password glued into their agendas to access the online games and the online book, among other things.  It is a little card, like a business card.  You can ask them to find it and together you can login to this website:  www.everydaymathonline.com.
The USERNAME will be the LOGIN name on your child’s card.
You need to make sure that you:
*install (or update) the Adobe Flash and Adobe Shockwave plug-ins from www.adobe.com.

• add exceptions for everydaymathonline.com and emgames.comif you restrict Internet access on the computer used by your child.

See if they can play one of the math games with you like FACTOR CAPTOR for example.
