It’s pretty fascinating to me, how 1 tiny item lives through so many places to come to us, same with my product, despite only being made in Taiwan, there are times when it would be made and be shipped to so many places before going to the user, what do you think?
Products are not made by one person, one mastermind that’s behind everything from the production to distribution and everything in between. Rather, products are a result of taking the bits of knowledge and work from thousands of individuals across the world and combining them into making one object. There’s so much more that goes into making the products than just; who mined this, who cut the tree, etc. There are also people that you might not have known were involved in the production, like the waitress who served the food that the miners ate before they mined the graphite, the chef who made the food the waitress served to the miners. People across the world who have never met and probably will never meet are working together to bring these products to us. We are all interconnected whether you know it or not.
You gave a thorough presentation on how pencils are made and distributed. However, I would like to know more about the distribution of these pencil cases. Which factories make the pencils, and if you don’t mind me asking, which particular ports/airports do the pencils get shipped to?
This particular brand of pencils has their main factory where they first opened it in the 1800s, in the same brick building in New Jersey. They ship the packaged pencils across the US to their general pencil stores that they have set up all over the United States. I don’t think they send the pencils to other countries, however, I think you can order them online, which will bring them overseas using the post office.
