“Fear is the feeling of insecurity and unsureness.” This photo was chosen by the reason of the people in the picture seems like he is stuck in some kind of situation and couldn’t get rid of it. Also, the picture is colorless, which increased its mysterious feeling.

What is Fear? I had been asking myself this question since a while ago. This poem has a repetition of “fear of…” at the beginning of each line. It consisted different kind of fears in our lives. Whether the fear is serious, big, or small, it’s always in our hearts. I chose this poem because it’s resonant. This poem seemed to be built up with a lot of contradictions and kinds of fear that are insignificant, but all of it was actually written very truly. The reason why is I’m afraid of too many things in life that aren’t actually as horrible as I thought. However, at the end of the poem, the author wrote, “I’ve said that.” That was the point I like the most, because it was the point that brought out confidence and firmness. It ended the poem simply yet completely. The last line gave me a kind of feeling about fear is actually not a big deal at all, especially when I faced it or spoke all of my fear out loud. Anyways, this poem catches my heart when it talked about the death. In fact, that was everything. We would own nothing after death, not even fear is left. So, what’s the point of being afraid?

“There’s art anywhere, even in losing.” I chose this picture because it shows a rose that’s frozen and placed on the ground. It looks cold and fallen, which gives the concept of losing.

There’s fear appearing again, in losing. I admit, I’m absolutely afraid of losing something important and meaningful. This poem was chosen for the reason of teaching me a lesson and motivating me. It gave me courage and the spirit to let things go and don’t care too much. Life is long and wide although it could end at any second. This poem is powerful in its relaxing tone. It spontaneously and naturally gives the readers a feeling of relief and a mind of optimistic and positive thoughts. The other main reason I chose this poem was because I was attracted by its name before actually reading it. I have always been fond of arts. After reading it, I love this poem even more as it described losing as an art through metaphor. After reading this poem, I considered about this question: Does losing really matter a lot in life and how? Letting things go in the right time is the key. Stop holding onto everything so tight that you could barely breathe. What are you waiting for if you are still afraid of losing and couldn’t relieve? Stand up and go ahead! There’s no disaster in losing, as the poem conveyed.
