2020 feb. – adding some colors to work

As digital days ended, I was lacking the motivation to catch up with school work. I realized that I was missing a system of my own where I can organize my to-dos. With that goal in mind, I decided that it’s time to finally create a digital timetable for myself. As much as I enjoy bullet journaling, it was overly time-consuming and not efficient for me to get my work done. As a result, I decided to digitize my to-do list on a Google sheet. The form itself is not fancy but is fairly easy to follow. On the top, I list out the work assigned or some other tasks such as club events or chores. The bottom half is then basically a timetable where I decide how to allocate my time for each task.

As a CAS experience, the essence of this idea is to create a system for my daily life that is efficient to follow yet aesthetically pleasing at the same time. For example, the color code for each category was chosen with a degree of association. All colors chosen are based on a direct complementary color scheme, where the school subjects and non-school related categories each follow a monochromatic (slightly adjacent) scheme. This allows me to easily see how much time am I allocating for school work and non-school related items.

Besides showcasing creativity, this CAS experience has benefited me in terms of making me a more balanced individual who learns to balance school work and other leisures. By actually creating a timetable for my life, I am more inclined to accomplish tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Aside from creativity, I also began to engage myself in a new activity experience as I started to practice soccer. With the school closed after school, my friend and I decided to go to Sanmin (a school near Hanshin Arena) to practice soccer. Although the evidence is really minimal, the practices heavily involved training me to be a more tactical player (since I don’t really have the physical advantage), including long passes for the strikers.
