In this video my partner (Evan) and I made, we had a fun time creating a short video about a kid who was hacked by a hacker who decided to post his ‘discriminating’ files online and to his principal. It relates overall back to the entire blog post due to many of the subjects being about correct internet usage and to not do anything that you shouldn’t online due to there being lots of possibilities that the wrong things you do may come back to haunt you despite many possibly believing in their internet presence to be ‘invisible’. However, early on during the writing process, we decided to go for a more comedic route to show the absurdity of the hacker and the hacker’s odd humor to further demonstrate that you never know what kind of people may be stalking or hacking you online. The entire video stands in as an example of sorts to support the main theme and while many of the details and ways the victim may have experienced the hacker may not be accurate, it does have enough in common with the public’s main conception of how hackers could hack your computer and therefore accessible enough to be easily understandable for lots of people. The short video is in a way, very minimal and focuses on a simple idea and hopefully, the audience would understand the message underneath the comedic notes, possibly even giving them a new perception on the subject and be thoughtful.
A creative idea I decided to do that further adds to the overall comedic tone of the video was to get my partner to ‘make’ the music by either humming out random tunes or noises out to stand in as the soundtrack. Everything in the video is derived from original content and therefore no citations are really needed.
