During this month and the past while, I’ve been helping out with the middle school kids’ soccer team when I am not practicing with my team. Last year I was the head coach because I was injured for the season. However, this year I was on the team but I still wanted to help out the middle school kids like last year. I’ve realized that even the kids who don’t focus on soccer and play a lot of other sports, some even more than soccer, have improved drastically. Their team bonded throughout the season and attempted harder to work together. They let the star player shine while supporting them as a team to score more goals and let in fewer goals. Everything seemed more organized.

The only point that I’ve noticed that is not always on the positive side is when they don’t take their practices seriously at times. But it isn’t to blame as they are still kids only wanting to have fun. It isn’t as serious as it could’ve been. It made me remember the time when I was in middle school and how that was almost the same case. But usually, a few practices in, standards are set and people began to become more serious and have their eyes on each other. And that eventually led us to multiple trophies in different sports like basketball, soccer and volleyball.
