Throughout the past months of the CAS experience, I’ve tried to learn how to cook more complicated dishes and increase the number of cuisines and dishes that I can cook. This time, I went back to one of the recipes I learned, pasta Aglio e Olio and improved it with a few additions.
This dish is composed of a few simple ingredients: Linguine, olive oil, garlic, cilantro and lemon juice & zest. Although this time I added other ingredients like parmesan cheese, chilly flakes and most importantly, I learned how to grill a salmon fillet. At first, it seemed daunting because I did not want to mess up and eat a dry piece of salmon. I tried researching the best methods to prepare a piece of salmon fillet, but I decided to ditch the research and use an air fryer. My theory was that I didn’t need to use any added oil because the salmon itself was rich in its natural oils. So I added the spices and tossed them into the air fryer for 3 minutes on each side. I estimated the 3 minutes but it actually was around 2 minutes of cook time on each side. It was cooked thoroughly with its juices remained as well as its chewiness retained.
For the salmon, I used Italian spices, salt & pepper, rosemary, chilly flakes and oregano. After its cooked, I seasoned it with lemon juice and zest, along with cilantro.
This turned out to be really delicious, it makes me want to try to learn more complicated recipes.
