For this month’s CAS reflection, I want to focus on my training and its progression. After tearing my ATFL, it was hard to get back on track with my workouts and what I’ve been doing for years with my trainer. Our program wasn’t just building muscle mass, but to increase the explosiveness of my muscles and its rapid usage of ATP all at once. As shown in the video, I would start the deadlift slow, once it crosses halfway of its path, I will then finish the rep faster than normal.
This type of workouts are designed for athletes, professional athletes use these to enhance their acceleration and overall performance. I realized the true difference this workout program makes when I was boxing, the punches were able to go faster and also my legs were stepping faster with a better rhythm.
At the beginning of this month, I got back on track to where I left off in my workouts. When I first injured my ankle, I fell off to deadlifting and squatting 80kgs. However, now that I’ve recovered for a while, I increased my ability to explode at 130kg and more now. In this video, it showed 130kg in 3 reps.
