This is my bridge report.
Bridge Project Process
By: Renzo
In class we needed to create a bridge out of pasta(spaghetti, fettuccine)that needed to be strong. It was a long process and we had to do many things. First we needed to research different bridges. Then, we had to choose one that everybody agree with that is the strongest, we got truss bridge. Next, we have to get more information about truss and get pictures or many designs for truss bridge. After that we try our own design on a website call “Bridge Designer” Then, we get to make our blueprint. Finally we are starting to make our one bridge.
Designing my bridge wasn’t easy, first I chose a triangle one that had too much members and it’s so complicated and it don’t work on the bridge designer. So I changed my bridge to a better one, it’s not complicated and it’s easy and strong.
In the first 3 days my members were all breaking and I’m always talking. My members break is not because too much glue it’s because I’m keep talking and I accidently break it. So the next 2 days I realise that I’m behind others so I tried to chase up and try to do my best then now I got my Bridge standing. well one side of the bridge is not really the same measurement but it’s ok because as long as the bottom is 25 cm then I will be fine. Also I’m lucky because that I found a side in trashcan then I told the teacher if I can use it, and she said it’s good, then I measure it and it’s the same measurement as well. The trashs safe my bridge !!
In the last 2 days I found my bridge isn’t right because my base have to be 25 cm but mine is 19cm so I have to make it longer, it’s kind of hard cause you have to make is as thick as the original one, also you need to wait until it’s dry to make the bridge stand. In the end I still make it, it’s standing well.
So now I want to tell about my conclusion, it’s great ending cause my classmate are friendly and they helped me to let the bridge stand, and now it’s standing itself really well. I also want to talk about all the math that I use in this big project:
* Geography – Those triangles and shapes that’s together.
* Measurements- We need to measure the members.
* Weight – We always have to weight the bridge, so it won’t be more than 300g.
*Algebra- for ex: members+3 must =twice the nodes
*Estimate-We have to estimate the thick of the members and the weight of the bridge+the glue.
*line segment- It’s about the members because the members have to use line segment
*problem solve-We have to think about the bridge problem such as too much glue on 1 member then it will break.
*time managing- We have to use the time wisely.
