During this semester, the first semester of CAS, I’ve experienced different challenges and obstacles that were intriguing. A quick run-down of the types of things that I’ve done was, cooking, internship and athletic skills. I’ve been interested in cooking ever since I was little, but along with the CAS program, I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone and try to make different cuisines and recipes.
I’ve also begun my own business, but that wouldn’t have happened without the encouragement of CAS where lots of research and active learning happened. During my vacation time, I went ahead and tried different internship programs in cafes or breakfast shops for free. These experiences were tough but were very useful. I’ve learned to overcome obstacles and prove to myself that I really want to reach my goal. It was nice to reflect upon how I know I wanted to reach my goal of beginning a new business because I could’ve easily quit at any time.
Sports have always been a big part of my life, it’s my hobby. It doesn’t have to be competitive, but I’ve always wanted to become better and it feels nice to just improve a little time by time. During this past semester, I’ve done research on how to improve skills like hand-eye coordination, bulking up workouts and hockey skills. I found these all very interesting and it was fun to just practice little by little.
