In this unit, we learned the language of rhetoric devices and how to apply them in writing a persuasive speech. We practiced methods and techniques of reading and public speaking that would engage the audience. We also read articles to have a better understanding of the effects of rhetoric devices. In the end, the final assignment was to write a speech that expresses our concerns and wishes to change on a particular issue. From this unit, we understand how verbal and non-verbal languages shape the identity and atmosphere of a public speaker.
