In the Qin dynasty,things were difficult. Now it is easier to live. In the past, if we break a rule we will be harshly punished. I did not live a happy life because I need to work all day, and I need give the emperor food. He even killed his families if he thinks that they are against him. We need to obey him, or we will be harshly punished. Now if we don’t obey are president, it will not matter.

I did not live in a happy life. Some confucian was plotting against him and Qin told his soldiers to kill them. Plus emperor Qin followed Legalism. So that means that if someone did something bad or breaks the rule, they will be harshly punished or put to death. The rich and poor are punished equally. Some punishments are cruel like getting whipped, forced labor, and beheading. Others are paying armor, shields, and gold. He got rid of a lot of characters and simplified them. There are a lot of war going on with emperor Qin.

Emperor Qin was cruel because he burned all the books except for medicine, farming, and the history of China. People who disobeyed will be tattooed on their faces and sent to force labor. Anyone who discussed ancient teachings to criticize the government would be executed. The emperor’s action shocked China. Some scholars chose to die rather than give up all their books. WHen he finished burning all the books and executed the scholars, he was sent to oversee work on the great wall of China.

My life working for the emperor to build a great wall was harsh. We need to work all day in the hot sun and we can not see our families until we finish. I can not do my job when I am building the great wall. I wonder what it be like when we finished building the wall. I am worrying that a lot of people will die in the process of finishing the bridge. I think they will block a lot of invaders.

We need to do a lot of things. Sometimes we can not sleep. We needed to cross over high mountains, desert, swampland, and quicksand. It is hard to cross over those natural features. It is hard to build the wall because it is blazing hot in the summer and really cold in the winter. Some people died from the weather. People that were dead in the process was buried in walls of the Great Wall of China.
