7th grade:

I was first inspired to be fond of space when I was in second grade. One day, Mom came home with a space jigsaw puzzle. As I’m putting different pieces together, I got fascinated by the beauty of cosmic. While the stars and galaxies are slowly formed, my interesting and curiosity grew stronger and stronger. It was that moment, that I found my passion, to become an astronomer.

On way to prepare myself for this position is to start charging myself with information I need about space. Not to mention, my favorite past time activity is to have my nose in carious space books. Haruki Murakami once said, “If you only read the books everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking. That’s why I’m reading all source of books, range from science to geography in order to have enough knowledge.

With comprehensive knowledge, the possibility for me to get hired to my dream job will be higher. Sometimes reading books isn’t adequate to broaden your horizon, instead we should experience it in person. I travel to different countries to visit their observatory or astronomy center. There, I learn how to use a telescope. On books, you can only read the steps of “how to use a telescope”, but going in person, you can experience yourself in real life. Moreover, the science camps that I attend teaches me knowledge I crave to know that sometimes even books don’t offer. You cannot ask questions to books, but science camps are more than willing to give you accurate answers. In this case, I will have a bigger head start than others as I have already been preparing myself.    

Going to NASA is the ultimate dream for very space lovers. Having good grades are only a small part of NASA’s acceptance. One of the professor said, “In order to be qualified, you’ll have to be easygoing.” Means when working as a group, you are capable to easily cooperate with others, as well as having good social skill. Furthermore, you have to be able to control yourself from stress, and anger, so when problem occurs, you can easily solve it. Therefore, having good personality plays an important role.
