chess (basic endgame checkmate practice)

I realized that I’m pretty weak in endgames. I focused too much on openings, and memorizing the best opening styles that I forgot the importance of endgames. I relied too heavily on winning by strategy in mid game that when the opponent decides to trade pieces and play boring games, I’m bound to loose.  So, I created a series of practices to help me strengthen my endgame.

These past few weeks, I focus on basic checkmates. It’s basically a series of pattern memorization. By doing these practices, it’ll help me see checkmate sequences easier in endgame. I use lichess.org to create my studies. I created scenarios of each kind of checkmates: KQ, QR, RR, KR, and BB. The hardest is to checkmate with two bishops. (you can see all those failed attempts in the history)

The purpose of this activity is to reach checkmate under the shortest moves (I obviously haven’t perfect it…)
