Reader’s Digest ( January 2016 )
I thought it would be a good idea to try out different types of books instead of “novels” every time, so Mom bought me this magazine called Reader’s digest. There are lots of small articles for you to read, I chose the once that have interesting titles to start first. Since my brother gets nose bleeding quite often, I decide to read this article about “how to stop a nosebleed”.
1. Sit the patient down
Tell them to lean forward ( not backward ), so the blood drains away from the nose.
2. Pinch the nose
To breathe through their mouth and pinch the soft part of their nose to help reduce blood flow. Also, they can go to the sink and spit out any blood in their mouth. (swallowing it will make you ill)
3. Check the nose
After ten minutes, release the pressure and check if the it’s not bleeding anymore. If it is still going, then apply pressure for another ten minutes.
4. Offer a cold compress
To tell them to hold the ice pack against the nose, so it’ll help reduce or stop the blood.
After I finish reading this article, I can now help my brother to stop his nosebleed with confidence.
Another article that I read is about how to have good diet. The reason why I read this article is because it it the main article of this magazine ( meaning is very important ), also I like to be a healthy person.
Eat snacks like fruit, it gives you healthy proteins. Drink liquid that doesn’t contain too much sugar. Eat breakfast, gives you energy for your whole day. Remove your danger food from your house, such as potato chips, or chocolates. Cook your own meal, always the healthiest choice. Also scientist had discovered that letting children cook their own healthy food will inspire them to eat it. Only make changes if you can live with, FOREVER. And last but not least, Vegetables!
