Summer vacation is one of my favorite holidays. I can travel to different countries to learn about their culture, and also taste some of their delicious food. However this year’s summer is particularly special. Not only have a chance to visit a country that I haven’t been to before, I also get to go with my classmates without parents!
We spent approximatly 8 days in Germany. On the first day, we picked up our bikes and started our bike tour. The tour guide took us around Munich to see different monuments, such as the royal residence, and the museum. For the people who were no able to ride bikes, they got to go look around the center of Munich,
and climbed up the tower to have a good view of Munich. After the tour, we then went to eat our first dinner in Munich. The sausages taste pretty good.
In the morning of second day, we began with a visit to the Deutsches Museum. I love this museum because there’s lots of cool airplanes hanging on the ceilings, and we can practice landing an airliner, or go inside an airplane model. Nonetheless, the most important reason is there’s a huge section about space, which is my favorite subject. After a couple hours, we then went to Tiergarten Zoo. I think the most exciting part for me is watching the feeding penguin show. They’re so cute and adorable that I want to hug and squeeze them. That night, I was so tired that I fell asleep a second after closing my eyes.
On the third day, which is my favorite day, we went to visit a really well known castle, the Neuschwanstein castle from Ludwig II. This is the castle that got inspired by Disney, and it’s considered one of the most beautiful castle in the world. Inside the castle, it’s full of gold and graceful paintings. Sadly, they don’t have chance to finish it because of Ludwig II’s death. I wish they could finish their amazing garden that the’ve planned to build.
On the fourth day, which I assume is boy’s favorite day, we had a tour in the BMW factory. We got to see how cars are made, and how machines work. Honestly, I’m pretty impressed that the machines work so well. They ‘ve even done better work than humans have! Later in the day, we went to the place that I didn’t really enjoy, the concentration camp in Word War II. We learned about how terrible people have been treated, and how evil Hitler had been. I even had a nightmare. This might be the last time I am ever going to visit the concentration camp.
On the fifth day, we continued our trip to Salzburg, starting to explore the city. One of the missions is to try to climb up to the Hohensalzburg Fortress. It is located on a big mountain, and I have a pretty bad time climbing it. But still, you can see the great views over the city while climbing. Inside the fortress is a museum fulls of knight’s armor and ancient weapons. They are all pretty magnificent. After looking around in the museum, it’s time for us to visit Mozart’s residence.
Unfortunately, there’s too many people, so we can only see the monument, and not able to go inside. However, I think tonight’s dinner is the best of all. We ate the food from Mozart time. I love the food and it taste delicious!
On the sixth day, we took bus to a small village above Hallein, where we visit the famous salt mines. We put on our miner’s suit, taking the minecart down in the mines. This is the first time I’ve been in a minecart. Before I only get to ride minecarts in Minecraft, but now I’m in a real one, and it feels awesome! Later on, we went to watch a eagle show, where you can see different types of eagles in a close distance.
They are all well trained, and it is really cool when they catch their food mid air. I love it!
On the seventh day, we took cable cars to the top of the Zwolferhorn mountain. I was astonished by the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains, lakes and valleys. That is why salzburg is considered one of the most beautiful area of Austria. When we arrived, it was so cold that I can barely walk. While we walk along the mountain, I saw so many cows lying down relaxing and enjoying their time.I thought they are so cute, so I took a photo with one of the cow. When we went back down, the tour guide is really kind and decided to buy all of us an icecream. Of course, I chose vanilla ice cream, because it is my favorite flavor.
On the eighth day, which is our last day spending time in Germany, we went back to Munich and visited the olympic park. We climbed on top of the football stadium’s roof to have a roof climbing tour. We then swang down from the roof, it was really fun and exciting!
Well, time always goes really fast, it is the time when we pack up things and go back home. I have a great time and I really like Germany. I wish I could come back and visit this wonderful place again in the future!
