Our whole family went back to visit Grandma during New Year Break. She has a small farm, full of fruits, vegetables, and lots of chickens. I always enjoy feeding them, since I love small animals and they all look adorable. However, some of them turn pretty aggressive, as well as fighting over each other to get more food. ( *chickens are greedy)
Meanwhile, we went to a Chinese temple with Grandma. This is a tradition of older Taiwanese, they burn gold paper (representing money), so that God and my ancestors can receive them in the heaven.
Moreover, at home, I decided to make dinner for my family. I made mushroom cabbage, fried mushroom corn egg, friedpork, and radish meat ball soup. I spend one and a half hour cooking it, but everyone ate all of it within 30 minutes. “It’s ok”, I tell myself, “At least it’s a good experience.”
Last but not least, I get red envelopes from my grand parents. This moment is one of my favorite in Chinese New Year, because this it’s the only time of the year that I get free money, without working hard!
