First STUCO Event – Homecoming
In honour of the new school year and to welcome new classmates to the KAS family, STUCO, hardworking as ever, organized our first ever dance of the year— Homecoming 2K16!

This was the first event our newly elected student council team has put together and to say it was a hit would be a drastic understatement. In fact, majority of the interviewed students said it was better than the last. Following this trend of success, our school year is definitely headed towards a gratifying high.

So how is our student council working together? According to the president: “Everything is going amazing! The team has a lot of chemistry and is working to improve upon not only future events but its relationships with the students.”

To find out more about the future dances, KASPER interviewed the current activities coordinator Dylan Kroft from 12th grade, who said: “You can be expecting another dance around winter time and if our last dance was any indicator, it’ll be an amazing experience! Anything else, you will have to wait and see!” Most of us know that he was referring to the winter formal that was meant to take place Wednesday, but has been cancelled due to a lack of participation.

Music Events and Winter Concert
Moreover, the orchestra prepared a grand performance for the winter concert that took place on December 9th. Having more members in the orchestra this year, they had been working on more difficult and mature pieces for the student body. They guaranteed that they would be bringing a whole new image of the orchestra that hopefully satisfies the mass.

For those who enjoyed the soirees (evening gatherings for conversation or music) the orchestra has held so far, the winter concert would definitely be pleasing to them too. Flute club, vocal club, students in IB music, string orchestra and other talented musicians in our school all participated in the performance. You could savor the music pieces from Mozart, Liszt, Vivaldi and lots of other famous pieces. Comparing to the first soiree of the semester, we are sure there were big improvements and that the audience relished the music. The musicians definitely made the night wonderful and worthwhile.
