“We were having a school picnic up here and the first thing we knew, the place is burning up.”
A group of students and teachers was having school picnic near a church when the church near them caught on fire for no reason. There was no one to blame as no one was suspected to light fire on the church, however there were a number of kids who was hanging out inside the church when it caught on fire. The exact numbers are unknown but thanks to the heroism of 2 kids Johnny Cade (kid),and Ponyboy Curtis(kid), the childrens stuck in the church have been rescued and nobody died.
However, things arent very lucky for the heros as one of the teachers describe “Johnny, well, I don’t know about him. A piece of timber caught him across the back— he might have a broken back, and he was burned pretty severely. He passed out before he got out the window. They’re giving him plasma now.” which confirms reports of Johnny Cade caught by a falling timber and believed to have been paralyzed and suffering a 3 degree burn on many parts of his body. Ponyboy suffered no severe injury and was lucky enough since his jacket caught on fire and he manage to reach help before the fire burnt through the jacket. Another adult hero Dallas Winston who pulled Johnny out of the church when Johnny was unconcious, had an entire arm badly burnt.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it is believed that this Johnny Cade is the criminal who commited crime action of killing Socs gang member Bob. No matter if he did commited the actions, you have to believe his heroism is unquestionable, one teacher said “I swear, you three are the bravest kids I’ve seen in a long time. First you and the black haired kid climbing in that window, and then the tough-looking kid going back in to save him.Were you sent straight from heaven. Or are you just professional heroes or something?”. So far all we can do right now is pray and hopefully Johnny Cade recovers from the terrible injury, Dallas Winston’s arm is said to be fully recovered in matter of weeks.
