This quote came from the baseball movie KANO, I don’t want to talk specificly about it, but it is a baseball team, who has not been producing effectively and constantly losing and not treated well by other baseball team. Then a coach arrives to motivate their effort to win and 1 year of harsh, forceful training, turning this team from constantly losing weak and disorganized team to a disciplined, effective, and motivated team. There is this positive thinking quote where you can’t think about winning, but think about not losing.
If you think about winning, it is underestimating your opponent, and sometimes you make less effort and you will not produce the effort you really have and it may cause your team to lose. But if you think about not losing (I can’t lose, I can’t lose, I cannot lose this game), it motivates you to win, and pushes you and force you to become better, you may perform in such a high level of display that your team actually wins the game, you will be determined to WIN, you keep doing everything you can, everything you got to win. That can really help your team because of your high level ,sheer determination, and maximum effort performance.
By just thinking about not losing, it sends a warning to your heart, and your mind and its like 3 big words written on the huge whiteboard “I CAN’T LOSE” when you run out of energy, or very tired or very depressed about the game, remembering this might unlock your potential because you will think “I need to win, come on body, provide me the last energy stored, I NEED this to WIN!!!” and give every last bit of your energy to win, and sometimes, you win. But sometimes you still lost, but at least what you have in your mind is, I’ve tried everything I can, every last bit of energy I got, it would be a good thing to know rather then stunned about why I lost and knowing you didn’t put maximum effort in it to win.
“Continuous effort, not strength, nor intelligence, is the key toward unlocking our potential”-Winston Churchill
This quote relates to not losing because you need continuous, and maximum effort to win. By doing so it could even possibly unlock your potential, and even forces you to go up to another level of display that impresses everyone around you, maybe your solid performance even motivates your teammate to do so, they may be jealous, that forces them to be the same as you, and you can also tell them, like “if I can do so, then YOU can definitely do so”, that maybe motivates them to also try their best, to win. In the end, the result it will most likely be VICTORIOUS, since all of your team is performing with everything they got.
