Cards of Our Board Game Design

I have learned information of baseball and a way to make our cards(for Special Deck). In addition to that, I also knew my ability of making games and creating new ideas. However, our progress was too slow due to the debate, so we will work hard on next week. My expectation for next week is to finish all the designs for cards and start doing our board. We did not do a lot this week because we had paucity of time, but cards designs must be finished next week since we do not have time anymore. Nonetheless, we have had a plenty of conversations and a comfortable atmosphere for everyone in my group to share ideas. We expect that our board games would be really fun since they are different from the other board games. Even though it is possible that they are not liked by the others, we have done our best. Last three weeks, we only had one setback or frustration because actually enjoyed and had fun in making games. The only setback we had was not enough time, and the only way to solve this problem is to work hard. We tried to follow the timeline and actually make progress constantly, so I believed that we can overcome the limited time. In conclusion, we had a lot of fun and accomplished probably 35% of our first game.

Here is a picture for Special Cards. (We actually did 8-10 instead of four cards. These four cards were just examples. )

This is what our board looks like.

Discussion of MLB board games design

We have accomplished a lot of things. We have made the rules of first game and some research on baseball history, which we will add in our first game. Our first game is similar to  Monopoly, but it does not have money or properties to buy. However, we have Special Deck that affects how the game is played. We have decided the objective of this game and almost done our design by using “photoshop.” When a player rolls a same, (for example, he/she rolls 5 and 5.), he/she can move one spot, and the objective of this game is to reach the last spot of the game. We learned a lot of things from it  because we did a plenty of research on the special events or the unprecedented things of baseball. However,  we will not require players to know all of them. When a player passes or stays at a spot, there will be a card of fun facts of baseball history for them to read.  They will not be tested on these information.

Here are the supplies

Supplies:

2 dices

3 rolls each turn

2-4 people

2-4 pieces

20-30 cards for writing MLB history

1 Box for graveyard

Here are the specific rules

-Each player starts from the start. There will be 40 spots where the checker will be on.

-On the player’s turn, the player rolls 2 times and repeats it 3 times.

– If the person, rolls the same number, he/she gets to move forward 1 place. The player will also have to read the history cards at the side.

If they roll the dices same 3 times in a row, they can move an extra spot, which will be 4 instead of 3.

The history will not influence the game. It is just for people to learn about the MLB history.

The first person who gets to the end wins.

Here are the ideas of “Special Deck”

-When someone rolls a same, then he/she may use this card, if he/she uses this card, then instead, you can move forward 1 space. (Go Go Go!)

-If someone gets all 3 turns you roll the same, and uses this card, he/she can move 12 steps instead. (Super Thunder)

-If someone rolls two same in a turn, then he/she can use a card that switches everyone’s position to the right. (Disturbance of UFO)

-If someone has this card(he/she can use it anytime), draws two cards from the Special Deck and discards 1 card from his/her hand. (Card Machine)

-Everyone may use this card to take a card from the graveyard. (Card Reborn)

– If someone activates a card’s effect, you may use this card. After you put this card in the graveyard, you can use the activated card instead. (Confiscation)

– If you activate this card, you will discard your hand and draw equal to the amount of cards you had that you discarded. (Card Destruction)

-If you land on number 35, then you can activate this card. If you activate this card, you win the game. (WIN)

– When someone activates this card, everyone skips his/her turn, except for the person who activates it. (Slow Motion)

– Add one card from the deck to your hand, then discard one card. (Recruitment)

Johnny and Ponyboy’s Rescuing of the Children

I can say that Johnny and Ponyboy were the bravest teenagers  ever. However, they were responsible for the disaster they had made. After Johnny and Ponyboy smoking cigarettes in a church on Jay mountain, the church had been ignited by the cigarettes and became an unexpected catastrophe. While they were on the way to home, they spotted a crimson flame covered the azure sky. Without hesitation, they rushed into the church of jeopardy. “We had reached the top of Jay mountain and Dally suddenly slammed on the brakes and stared, “Oh, glory!” he whispered. The church was on fire! “Let’s go see what the deal is,” I said, hopping out.” As soon as they ran onto the top of Jay mountain, they heard screams from children inside and outside the church. Therefore, without considering the consequences, they all hurried to save lives. Despite the severe burns they got from the flames, they successfully saved every child. Nonetheless, they were sent to hospital for severe burns and unconscious. A group of people from gang, a group of juvenile delinquents, could be memorable heroes. “Ms. O’Briant and I think Johnny and you were sent straight from heaven. Or are you guys just professional heroes or something?” Their valiant actions not only saved the lives, but also won a laudable dignity for greasers. In conclusion, regardless of his /her environment, everyone has potentials to conduct a praiseworthy thing as long as he/she has sufficient audacity.
