Chem Inventory Project Update – Day 3

Today is yet another day with significant progress. We have finished labelling the inorganic and organic cabinets, and the inventory process for all the organic materials.

Next stop… Acids and bases! This will be the final stage of our inventory project.

But before we start the inventory process for the acids and bases, we have to order more glass bottles because numerous materials are contained inside plastic soft bottles, which are hazardous to handle due to their corrosive nature. As such, we would unfortunately need to halt the inventory process until the glass bottles have arrived for maximum safety. This would be beneficial to those utilizing these chemicals in the future as well as we would prevent future injuries that arose from corroded soft bottles. So we think that this order and break will be necessary even though this may delay the completion of our inventory project for a bit. I hope that these bottles will arrive just before next Wednesday’s work day, but if they don’t arrive by that date, I will see you in two weeks!

Here are some photos from today’s work.

p. s. I got to print all of the labels myself! Even though there were some slips at the beginning with the capitalizations as well as the operation with the machine I think that I did pretty good on this one!
