For this continued Basketball experience, I decided to work on my shooting skills in basketball with some of my classmates through a game called “knockout”. This activity requires 2 balls and it can start out from the free-throw line or the 3 point line which we chose to start from the free-throw line. The first person will shot the ball and if the ball goes in, the person passes the ball to the third person. If the person shot the ball and it doesn’t go in, the person has to try to put the ball into the basket as soon as possible. The second person is able to shot the ball after the first person did not shot the ball in and if the ball shot by the second person goes in before the first person, the first person will be eliminated. This activity requires and is able to train on both accuracies and having a quick release which avoids shot-blocking that will be potentially faced in the real game. It is a great experience to be involve in CAS and basketball training.

Fitness Workout List
Continuing on with the fitness work, I decided to create a list of schedules on my fitness workout and I will follow that routine every time I decided to work out. Creating my own schedule of the workout will enable me to have a more efficient performance and workout that specifically focuses on the part that I am attempting to work on. The objective goal of mine in this workout is core muscles which require a lot of abs workout. Thus, I decided to plan the abs workout as the primary necessity of my list of workouts. The plan that I listed is:
- Torso Rotation x 240 ( Right spin x 120 / Left spin x 120, 20spin per round)
- SBE x 120 (Right side x 60 / Left side 60, 20 times per round)
- Abdominal Crunch x 120 (35kg x 60 / 37.5kg x 60, 20 times per round)
- V-Crunch x 45 (15 times per round)
- Push up x 50 (25 times per round)
Portfolio 6 Individual Oral Internal Assessment
For this internal assessment, we have begun practicing some mini-IOs and some practice IOs started from the beginning of this semester. These practices and attempts help me to construct a better final oral internal assessment about the text of ADH and Nike’s advertisement. The global issue that I chose for my final IO is justice, and more specifically about the stereotypical inequality against women in the global society. It is a serious topic that has continued to strike in the society in which the aggressiveness has been slowing down for the last few years due to the rise of voice from the celebrity and more importantly, the women’s voice. Through the assessment, I have connected myself to the global world by promoting the ideas of more equal laws that are set between genders. In ADH, the laws and the situation of society are depicted clearly against women which they lived in a difficult and inferior life compare to men. This idea in the text leads me to the thinking of our world and to how society works from a different point of view. From there, Nike’s Serena William’s advertisement further demonstrate this issue that exists in the society we live in this decade.
These two different texts impacted me from the aspect of freedom. It tells me the value of rights and freedom from living in the country with such liberty. It also informs me of the significance of obtaining personal freedom in society. In this IO, I have prepared myself starting from making a solid outline to a deeper dive into the texts that I will be interpreting. The challenging part is to find the most solid connection with my global issue and it is difficult to memorize every critical point that I would like to explain in the real IO. However, when the points and evidence are found in the text, it will strengthen the persuasiveness of my IO and more importantly the critical concept of my global issue. It is a great experience in my learning career to has the chance to orally explain the text and global issue from my own perspective.
Portfolio Post 5 Persepolis
Throughout this unit, we learned about one literary text of Persepolis written by Marjane Satrapi. This text is an autobiography of Marjane Satrapi to demonstrate the global issues and tensions that she faced throughout her life. It started out with the religious tensions and domestic revolution within the nation of Iran then go further deeps into the cultural tension she faced in the foreign country of Austra. The text demonstrates a profound connection to the issue of our society and conveys the ideas to promote the fulfillment of gender equality, freedom of religion, and global society…etc.
We accomplished several assignments on this unit in order to demonstrate a solid understanding of the text and the further ideas that tie into the world. We accomplished 3 discussions on different topics about the text on a weekly basis to view the text from different points of view. It helps us to develop a better understanding of the intention of the writer to utilizes such techniques to convey the ideas of the text and encourage us to think in a more abstract way to fully understand the text. Moreover, we were able to take notes while reading the text from taking notes on the reading journal that is provided. It helps to document specific ideas with solid related evidence that correlates to the text and the ideas are further used in comparison with other works that are either literary or non-literary.
In this unit, I specifically focus more on the global issue of gender inequality in the text because I feel more touched when the writer emphasizes the prejudiced presented against women in the text. I believe this global issue is still vividly presented in the world but it has become better through the support of propaganda and demonstration of women’s strength to overthrow these prejudices. The conceptual questions that I learned throughout this unit focus on the cost of something in order to fulfill another achievement while in the text of Persepolis, it is the cost of Freedom and education to pursue of freedom in this world following with the impact of leadership within organizations or nations to be able to influence the populations as a whole.

Biology TOK Concept – GATTACA
KQ: Under what circumstances might flaws or errors be beneficial to what we know OR how we know?
In the GATTACA, perfection and flaws are emphasized clearly with extreme controversy in Vincent and Aton. Each concept is represented by a protagonist and depicts the impact and consequences of having such traits from the protagonist. At the beginning of the movie, Vincent was born with birth defects to symbolize the concept of flaws in the movie. On the other hand, his brother, Vincent, was born with perfection by genetically modifying the mutated genes which symbolize Vincent as perfection. Nonetheless, as the movie goes on, Anton becomes to gradually overcome the defects and win over his brother who is innately perfect overall. It shows that flaws or errors can be beneficial to what we understand about ourselves and how we interpret life from different perspectives. In life, we usually found flaws by accident. For example, by having color vision deficiency, it is difficult to identify similar colors beside each other which causes some difficulties in life such as the traffic light. It is hard to identify the colors of yellow and red which could cause some panic when driving. However, it allows people to think about other perspectives. People with color vision deficiency begin to observe our world even more carefully. People view the world differently by memorizing the position of each traffic light, the number of seconds waiting across the street. People become even more cautious when driving due to the flaws that people have which not only reduces risk when driving but also showing that flaws actually mean better observation in the society and can result in greater benefits for the individual. It shows that it doesn’t mean having flaws is a bad thing, instead, it is beneficial for individuals to better understand our inferior part in order to strengthen our better parts and this can be observing and really interpreting the world with better senses of connection to society and nature. This RLS specifically connects to the AOK of human science and nature science which creates the relationship behind these two areas from having flaws. It also connects to the WOK of reason which the reasoning can be having the flaws which allow us to think from a different perspective that can be beneficial to what we really are in society. On the other hand, the counterclaim will be that flaws or errors are not beneficial to what we know or how we know. This counterclaim is a common belief in life due to how the majority of flaws end up damaging or decreasing the value of the result of something with a stereotypical overview mindset. Flaws can be a fatal point specifically in scientific experiments. Flaws cause an experiment to be less credible or even signifies the experiment as no credibility. It causes the results of the experiment to be invalid and cannot really be used to prove something true in life, therefore, people often have the mindset to say that flaws are negative impacts to not just science but to our society. In conclusion, flaws can be a dilemma in life, however, it does not mean it has a totally negative impact on our society. It creates a new insight into our individual to be able to discover and find out our nature of life from multiple points of view.
