Why is My Paper in Your Hand?

So… this is a short movie about the academic honesty and dishonesty that I work with my partner Steven. We made a short story in the movie that we film in our school that we think it can also make readers have a better understanding of the policy. This video is going show about a person copying works from others but got caught by the person immediately. From this video, I had learned about communication is a very important part when doing group works. Only if you communicate with partners, it will help to lead the team to have a final and best decision.

How important is the caption of a post to you? I guess it’s important to you and originally it should be very important to you when you are the author of the post and want to get others attention. In this post, we will be focusing on the caption, image selection and the attribution of the images to help to make a better post.

A caption of a post can really change the amount of people that will really view about your post. From my opinion, an interesting andspecial caption will be very beneficial to the post. Also, mostly readers will see the caption before they actually read about the post so by this habit, having a great and unique caption is an important part of the post. From my research on the website “Northwest Scholastic Press”, I found out that captions that tell and intrigue readers will be a great caption to have. Also don’t start the caption word with a, an, the or names. A better caption can be made that is meaningful or like having a story behind it.

Images are another main point and also very attracted in a post. Based on my research on the website “Orbit Media Studios”. Images on the blog will directly affect shares. Posts with images will be shared more than posts that has not included images. From what I think,  Images can give readers a better interest about the post. Readers will get attracted to the images even before seeing the caption of the posts. I think having an appropriate, great, comfortable and beneficial image will be more important than the caption of the post.

Also, if you get a great images from others especially on the internet, make sure to give them credits. Having a clear citation should also be included in the post. Based on the research on the website “creative commons”about how to give attribution. It should include the title, author, sources, and licenses for a perfect attribution.

Be Honest, or Not?

There’s a policy in school that keeps students’ academic work without plagiarism, cheating, copying, lying, tampering, or having any assistance from any other person. Which most of the students might feel painful while hearing about this policy. The policy is called the Academic Honesty Policy. Are you familiar with this? or are you also the one who dislikes about this policy during your school life?

If you had done those improper things during your assignments, it led to the opposite policy of academic honesty policy: Academic Dishonesty Policy. It’s a policy that keeps any type of cheating that occurs in relation to a formal academic exercise. It’s a policy for students that had lied or cheating during any exams or assignments. This policy is mostly in every level of educations, from elementary school to university. It keeps people away from cheating and copying works from others.

I think there’s a type of assignment that is hard for the teacher to know did the students did the improper things during the assignments. “Group work”, it is difficult to grade by each person because teachers don’t really know each part of the work was completed by who. One person might do everything for the whole group or maybe works are divided equally in a group which it should be the right thing to do in a group assignment. This problem might lead to a sense of academic dishonesty. Based on my research on the website of University of Toronto about academic integrity, students are normally encouraged to study in groups or work with peers to improve their skill of being in a team. However, sharing work without author acknowledgment can create the risk of students providing or receiving unauthorized aid and the risk of honest work falling into the wrong hands.

There’s a quote that I think is valuable for everyone to know: “Tell a lie once and all your truth become questionable.” Don’t even try to tell a lie first because if others find out it’s a lie, it’s hard to make others to trust you and your opinions again. Honesty shouldn’t just be a thing happen in your school life, it should be everywhere during your life time. Be sure, to be honest to anyone and also be respectful to everyone.
