In this unit, we were supposed to draw a city with either one point perspective or 2 point perspective. First, we learned about some knowledge that we need to use when drawing the perspective city. Also, before we draw the perspective city we need to prepare rulers, pencils, paintbrush, and the paper that we need to draw on it. When I draw the perspective city, I draw the horizon line at first and I choose to draw it at the middle of the paper so it can also make the eye level at the middle. Then, I draw the 2 vanishing point at the very left and the very right side of the paper, because I decided to draw my perspective city by using 2-point perspective. I choose to use 2 point perspective because I think I can present my perspective city better, use spaces more comfortable, and make the audience can easily understand the topic of my perspective better by using 2 point perspective. Later on, I draw lines that is perpendicular to the horizon lines and connect the lines to both of the vanishing point. It makes some rectangle shapes that can represent stores in my perspective city. I draw some decoration on those stores which can strongly make the audience know that the topic of my perspective city is about sport, because I draw some sport logos at the different stores such as Nike, Adidas…etc. After finish the structure of the perspective city, I start using the paintbrush to paint my perspective city. I use colors to create rhythm and pattern by using different colors. Also, I create different values on colors to show the distance by viewing the city. At last, I fill in all the tiny missing spaces and make my perspective city more colorful by adding more colors in the empty spaces.
After finishing this project and unit, I think I did a good job on understanding about perspective and did a great job on the outline of my perceptive city. I think I can improve on the painting part of my project. I think I can paint the colors more clearly and creating more values, because it can makes my project more real and neatly. Also, I think I can improve on using the right colors at the right places. It is important because it can makes the whole view more comfortable and having more attention from the audiences. I think there are many great good things that I saw from my classmates’ works. They paint the city very colorful and having some great colors at the right places. They didn’t have many mistake when painting the city. I think they did a better job than me and I did learn many things from them.

In this unit, we were supposed to make a design for a carpet. We need to draw the design by using a black pen on a paper and the main idea for the design is to demonstrate the rhythm of the shapes. The design for the carpet must create some pattern and different kind of shapes no matter organic shapes or geometric shapes. Also, there must be some drawing with hatching and cross hatching in the design. Shading is also an important part of this design, we use pencils with different values to draw the shading part of the design.
For my design, I divided the whole paper to 4 equal sizes by using rulers. I drew 1 poker icon on each part of the paper which some of the shapes are all organic shapes. I shaded 2 of the icons on the diagonal side to make the whole design looks more comfortable. Also, I drew the hatching and cross hatching on the 2 parts of the design to shows this skill are important to my design. I drew some geometric shapes on the another part of my design. Mostly I drew circles on that part of the design, and I drew the circles with different sizes but with a pattern. I drew the circles from the largest and make the continuous circles become smaller and smaller. I use the same idea on the other side to make the pattern looks more balance and obvious on the whole design. Last, I drew a circle on the center of the design to make the 4 different parts of the design connected to each other and make the whole design looks more organize and related.
I think I did a good job on drawing the hatching and crosshatching part in my design because I make it looks organized and use this skill correctly. But I think I can still improve on drawing more shapes and pattern on my design to not makes my design too many space and too white. Also, the shading part is not good enough, I still need to use a more darker pencil to make the value looks more balance and better looking. Last, I think I can use pencil first to plan my design, so I won’t have too many errors on the final project and having an idea before drawing.

In this unit, we are supposed to make a clay. The shape of the clay must be in either organic shape or geometric shape. I choose to make it to a circle shape which is also an geometric shape. First, after we get the clay from the teacher. I use the wire cutter to cut the clay into two pieces and take the piece that the size is similar to my design. Later, I wedged the clay to make sure that the air will not going inside of the clay. I do my wedding on the canvas to make sure that the table will be clean and not be dirty after.Then I used the needle tool to make the clay into a more accurate circle and put the extra clay away. My original design is to make the clay into a baseball, so later on I used the coils on the circle to make the two lines of the baseball and I used the needle tool and the pointing tool on drawing lines on my circle to make it more like a baseball. I also draw the 4 bases on the circle so it can represent baseball even more. I used the needle tool later use on the outside part of the home base. I use the needle tool to make the base outside more deeper so it seems more similar to the real life one. After that, I used the needle tool again at the side of the circle. I draw the sentence “Baseball Never Stop” to represent baseball even more and I wrote it 2 times so it can be seen at the right and also the left side of the circle. Last, I used the scratching tool at the bottom part of the circle. I use it to make the groove under the circle to make sure that it won’t break or separate after we put it into the kiln.
I think balance was showed by my design, because the two lines are equal length and it’s at the opposite side. Also the bases were located equally in my circle. I think my design has harmony too because my design was balanced very well and my drawing was simple and easy to understand. I think there was an emphasis on my project is that everything I draw on the circle was all related to baseball, for example bases, baseball, bat…etc. It makes the audience knowing and understanding my project more easier.
I think I didn’t use Pattern and Rhythm very well in this project, because it can not really tell there are any pattern or rhythm in my project so I think these two are the improvement that need to improve next time. Also I think there is no obvious contrast in my project, because mostly the drawing on my project were all balance or equally separated. I think my project is not unity too, because there’s too much different drawing on my project so it makes the not unity, but I think my project is still organized well and looking good.
