Music Competition Give Teenagers Pressures

Music is Pressure or Hobby?
Music competition became a larger issue and pressure for lots of the teenagers. Some parents force their child to play and learn music just for the competition. Some of the teenagers maybe dislike music or don’t even want to participate anything about music, also maybe they are not even interested in playing music, but they still need to spend lots of extra time on practicing music just for the competition. It give teenagers who got forced to play music having even more pressures, even tho they already have lots of pressures in school, homework…etc. They got extra works, and they need to spent extra time and efforts than others. It is a painful life for them and they are also having a hard time because they are not doing things they like.
After sent and organized the survey from 7 & 8 graders in Kaohsiung American School, there are over 60 responses, the result shows that over 70% of teenagers think that if you do play music, music competition will become a pressure for them. According to the result, It shows that music competition will really affect teenagers on playing music. The main point is that competition will really give pressures for teenagers. Even tho competition is not really the main point of playing music. Music competition shouldn’t be the reason of playing music. Music competition is to let yourself know what do you still need to improve, what skill you did better this time and having some advice from the judges. Also, it can probably increase your confidence and courage while standing on the stage. Music competition is to try to improve yourself and trying to makes yourself being better next time. But, music is not all about competition, competition is just a tiny part of music. Music should be a hobby that people will really enjoy it while playing it and it can also be a way to relieve your stress and emotions. It is not for the people that play music just to prepare for the competition. If you do like music, you should really find the happiness of music and you will truly know the true definition of music.
