Being Caring

Being caring means that they are kind and care about the feelings of other people, not just themselves. They aren’t mean, rude, or ruthless. They are nice and help others. If the world doesn’t have caring people, the world would be miserable. Being caring makes you feel happy after you help someone and it makes the person you helped feel good too.

I am a caring learner because I am nice, not mean, and I like to help people. Like when it comes to homework or classwork. Yesterday in the library the 4th graders asked me about 30 questions about the Earth and about math. My friend ignored them so I helped them even though they keep asking the same questions. Like they asked, “What does solstice mean?” or “What does equinox mean?” I answered them and Camille even gave me a chocolate. 🙂 And lots of people say I’m really nice like Jeffrey.

I could improve by helping my brother more and not just telling him to ask my mom. And I should also be more kind to him than just ignoring him and going into my own little world.

The Parts of the Movie

So we’ve written a few parts for the movie. They’re not in order, they’re mostly just ideas and stuff. We aren’t going to start filming until we get more of the dialogue done.

We will start the filming when we finish at least 15 minutes of the movie.

We decided that at the beginning will be Tammy and Rebecca walking to school. And Travis and Connor won’t be Claire all the time. They can be Teresa, Connie or Nanako too. Then when Rebecca and Tammy get to school they see Mackenzie and Kate gossiping and putting on makeup and stuff. Then Mackenzie and Kate say mean stuff.

Some ideas are when Kate and Mackenzie are trying to impress Travis on the basketball court and Connor is being funny trying to impress people and yeah. Also them trying to impress Travis in running but they’re wearing heels. And in volleyball they don’t even TOUCH the ball. Connor, Travis, Rebecca play really well. Tammy is pretty good.

Inventions-Good or Bad?

This story takes place before the television.

The Professor always made me feel awkward with his crazy inventions, and this time is no different. He invented something called an iPad. He claims he’s the smartest person in the world, but I don’t really think so. Yes, he invented the television, the computer, call phone, and calculater. But he doesn’t make them good to use. I have no idea how to use them. And they make my eyes burn too. I just wonder when he would stop inventing stuff that are so hard to use. He invented something called and XBox and he wears these thick round glasses all the time. I wonder why. It’s heavy and when I wear them I get all dizzy.

At class, he started demonstrating how to use his inventions. This is weird, he usually never tells us how to use it, mostly just what is does and all the good things about them. He said that the radio is the easiest to explain. He explained how we use the remote to switch the volume and track. And how we put the CD inside. And then he explained the television, then the computer, then the iPad

It turns out that his inventions ARE good. You just have to know who to use it. Now I know how smart he is. He told us to not use it too much or we’ll have to wear glasses like his. I don’t think I will though.

FF-DA CHARACTERS

We haven’t started filming yet. But decided that the shy girl’s name will be Rebecca La Rue. She will be played by me, Claire.  The mean girls will me Nanako and Teresa. Their names will be Kate Lorraine and Mackenzie Everdeen. The boy’s name will be Travis Valdez. It will be played by Claire with a picture on her face. The picture will either be Niall Horan or Louis Tomlinson. I will be the editor. Rebecca’s best friend will be played by Connie. Her name in the movie will be Tammy Santiago. Kate and Mackenzie are friends but fight a lot. Travis is good at everything. And he has a brother named Connor. So in the end Travis will like Rebecca instead of Kate and Mackenzie. Like Cinderella. I want Tammy to like Connor. Connor will be played be me again with a picture of either Louis or Niall on my face.

What the Project Will Be About

For my topic I’ve decided to focus on making a short movie. Before we we’re going to do a song but decided that it was kind of hard. We’ve decided that the movie is going to be 30 minutes and it’s about two girls fighting over a guy and there is one shy girl and then the boy falls for that girl instead of the other two and yeah, like Another Cinderella Story.

This topic is important to me because I really like making videos and I was the one who suggested this.

I hope to learn about movie making, and stuff famous actors and actresses. Like what movies they played in.

I will know when we succeed when we don’t look nervous or look like we’re acting and we remember what to say.

We have already accomplished what the movie is going to be about. It is going to be about LOVE and you know.

How I Survived a Massacre

The main character is a boy and his name is Chris. He’s in 6th grade. The setting is at an american school.

I was getting ready for the most boring subject, math. As the teacher talked about the importance of math, fractions, decimals, integers, blah, blah, blah. I was too busy staring at the new girl, Clarisse. When the teacher called on me, I just said I don’t know.

“PAY ATTENTION!!!” the teacher screamed I kept staring.

“Now who can tell me…..” I wasn’t paying attention. When the bell rang, I immediately went out. Gym was the best subject. I’m really good at it. We were playing basketball today. I stole the ball every time I made the ball in every time. The only other person who was close to being good as me was Dan. He’s my worst enemy. When I shot in the three pointer, with him glaring at me 2 metres away, my team cheered. Clarisse came and congratulated me. I thought this was going to be the best day ever, but that was when a bullet impaled itself in the ball I’m holding.

People were screaming as more bullets rang out. The teacher told us to get inside. It was a good thing the basketball court was close to Ms. Silverstein’s classroom. We went inside. We explained that there were bad guys coming. Ms. Silverstein immediately told us to lockdown and she called the office to make an announcement. My hand suddenly was in pain. I looked at it and realized that my hand was woundedI risked a peek outside the window. Somehow, the bad guys didn’t know we were in here, they must have been shooting from a distance. Then the door got flung open and an armed gunman came in.

Some people ran out the door but then another man came and held it closed. Some people got shot, as he was about to shoot Dan, I came out of my shock, I knew I had to do something, even if Dan was my enemy. I took my water bottle, crept behind the gunman, and brought it down hard. The guy crumpled. Then the other turned toward me, taking his eyes off of Clarisse, she kicked the gun out of his hand. And he whipped around and I had to do something quick. I could throw baseballs really well. Now I have to put that skill to use. I threw the water bottle right at the guys face right when he snatched the gun of the ground and shot me in the shoulder. The other injuries weren’t as serious as mine, since the gunmen were just shooting randomly, most of the injuries were in the hand, leg, or arm. Then the police finally arrived.

The police arrested two other gunmen and dragged the unconscious ones away. The ambulance took everyone away. I lost conscious. When I awoke my family sobbed. They said that I was a hero. I stopped many deaths by knocking them unconscious. When I could go home 2 weeks later, there was a scar on my hand and my shoulder was better. For days reporters came with cameras. When I went to school again, people kept staring at me and Dan even said thanks. We became good friends. Clarisse smiled at him in gym. This was the best day ever.

How to be Principled

To be principled you have to be  telling the truth. You have to be fair and you can’t blame other people for your problems. You follow the rules and you don’t be rude. You don’t complain or make the people around you miserable. You have to be excited to learn.

I am a principled learner because I am honest, I follow rules and I am excited to learn. I usually don’t make everyone unhappy just because I am unhappy. I really like to be fair and I am honest.

What I can improve is not making some people annoyed or angry because I am. I usually get angry because people are not being fair. And then I tell them that they’re not being fair and then they get even more angry and say something about my temper. I think I shouldn’t do my RRJ at the last minute. I should do one in two days, not one every 4 days.

Last Night

Last night I awoke to a bright beam of light coming in my window, I ran to the window, but found nothing. It must have been nothing. I stayed at the window anyway. When the light came again, I was a little blinded, but I was ready. I caught a glance before it disappeared. I couldn’t believe it, it was Khione, goddess of snow. After reading books about Greek Gods I’d recognize her anywhere. I wonder what she was doing here. I mean, here in Taiwan it doesn’t snow, only on the mountain tops. I’m pretty sure whatever she’s doing here doesn’t involve sightseeing Taiwan’s mountains. You’d expect her to be in Canada or Russia. No, she comes here instead. What could she be doing here?

When the brilliant flash came again I yelled HEY!!! I didn’t care what the neighbours thought, I had to take a picture! I mean, it’s not everyday you see a snow flying around in a hot, humid place!! The flash appeared almost immediately. “What” Khione said. “What are you doing in this kind of place?” I asked as I tried to find a camera. “Seeing if anyone likes snow,” she replied. “I like snow” “Okay, to prove you like snow, you must answer these questions TRUTHFULLY.” she said “truthfully” in all caps and glared at me like I would break that simple rule. “Okay, fine.”

“Would you rather be in Mr. V’s freezing classroom or be in a heatwave?” “Well duh, course anyone would choose Mr. V’s classroom, it isn’t that cold.” “Okay, I wasn’t making it serious enough, would you rather freeze to death or burn to death?” “Well duh, freeze, burning sounds more painful. “Okay, you’ve proven yourself worthy of me.” “What’s that supposed to do?” “I’ll grant you one wish if it is in my power” I almost said can I take a picture with you? But I said, “Can you uh…Somehow…Make it snow here? Only in the winter” “Okay, but why?” “Because I want to see snow again and some of my friends have never seen snow.” “Oh Okay.” AND IT SNOWED!!! SO HAPPY!!! This became the mystery of the century.

Change it, Don’t Complain

“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.” ~ Maya Angelo

I agree because complaining doesn’t help make your situation any better. It doesn’t make it any better for anyone else. You’ve got to change whatever you don’t like. Or simply change your attitude so others won’t complain.

I think people should really think about this. Complaining makes people think your not a good person. They won’t be your friend and stuff. You won’t be happy either. You have to think positive!!!

This quote is talking about changing yourself. And it can change other things. Like in The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan, Clarisse refused to battle because of her arguement with Michael Yew. When she changed her mind, she defeated the drakon that the others couldn’t beat.
