Kenting!!

Me, my brother and my mom went to Kenting for 12/23 to 12/25. It was really fun. We rolled around in the sand, swam in the water and even shot arrows with a bow.
The beach was really fun. We rolled around on the sand, made a sandcastle, buried ourselves, ran around the sand, climbed a huge pile of sand, collected seashells and rocks, and fell on our butts in the water. The wind was really strong. The first day didn’t have any wind. The second day was so windy. A lot of sand blew to us and it STUNG. And there was a lot of sand in my eyes, ears and hair when we went back to our room. The LAST day was pretty windy. But less windy at times. It was really sunny. I was stomping in the wet sand. It was really cool. Because it’s like mud, but it’s not. It’s really squishy. It’s it’s sort of like quicksand. I can pretend that I am a demigod and that Gaea is messing with. I saw people surfing, I thought that was weird because the water’s very shallow and the waves aren’t that big. Me and Jerry threw rocks into the sea and watched them splash. We also threw sand.

What It Means To Be Balanced

Definition-They understand the importance of intellectual, physical and emotional balance to achieve personal well-being for themselves and others.

Being balanced means you undestand how it’s important to balance knowledge, exercise and emotions to be a good person. You need to be happy, smart, and get exercise.

I am a balanced learner because I am smart, happy, and get a lot of exercise. I am smart because I do the assignments and listen to the teacher during class. I get a lot of exercise during PE and sometimes at home. I am just happy all the time for some reason.

I need to improve to be more balanced by maybe doing my assignments and do them SLOWLY and not rush through it.

World War III?

There was a secret meeting tonight and I had to be there. What’s happening? Well, Gaea’s going to take over the world and probably cause World War III while she’s at it. See, Leo Valdez got controlled by an eidolon, a possessing spirit, so he was forced to fire the ballistae at the Roman Camp, Camp Jupiter. Apparently, the Roman’s didn’t take that lightly. Giants have already invaded Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter and killed 20 people. Now we have to discuss battle strategies in the mortal world. Extremely dangerous. So we had to have it in a huge gym room with celestial bronze surrounding the whole room. We usually have meeting in the Camp’s rec room around a ping pong table with satyrs serving drinks but we can’t because…you know.
Chiron started the discussion, “What do we do?” No one needed to ask what he meant. How do we stop the giants? How do we stop GAEA? How to we hold off the Romans at the same time?”
“Well,” Clarisse started, “we could always simply charge, maybe they’ll be surprised.”
Everyone rolled their eyes, Travis said, “Do you have any idea how strong they are? They could kill you in seconds. When you charge, what damage could you do?”
Clarisse glared at him, “Prankster Boy, it was JUST A SUGGESTION!!!”
Chiron said, “Whoa, see, this is exactly what Gaea wants, we need to stop fighting. How about we try to reason with the Romans? Get them on our side. At least we’ll stand a chance. Drew?”
Drew looked up from her mirror, “Huh? Oh okay hon, I just don’t see why you guys care so much. It’s just some stupid war. My hair is a mess from running from monsters all day!!”
I rolled my eyes, this was going to be a long meeting. Especially with Drew here.

FINISHED!!!

We finished filming and everything!! YAY!!! I have to admit that our movie isn’t the best though. AND, it’s really really short. It was supposed to be like 30 minutes but it was only 10.
We learned that making movies needs to have a lot of ideas. Or your movie will be really short!! Like ours. Even thought we spent a lot of time in it.
I learned that I am a pretty good actress. At least I think so. And we’ve practiced singing together for our next project and we sound pretty good.
Next we are going to practice some songs that we are going to do. We are going to do Mistletoe. We have all the parts done.
By next week, I hope we will all be ready to do our cover. I also want to be able to take the band picture you know?
Our accomplishments of the movie took really long. Now I see why The Sea of Monsters took a year to make. I thought it would only take like 3 months. Silly me.
Sometimes we couldn’t all film. Like sometimes Teresa had to work on her poster. Or Nanako wanted to study for the test. And also Connie isn’t in our A Block. We just filmed the parts that we can film. And when we couldn’t film film anything we changed the dialogue a little and also edited some things together. And also add some music.
We communicated really well. I sent a lot of emails telling our group what we are going to do. Like the plan for the week. I also made a chat group and a group on Facebook. We have a Google Doc with all the information.

Almost Done!

We learned that making movies needs a lot of practice and planning. You　have to remember the script! Or at least what’s happening. We have finished filming a LOT of parts. Everything except for the plan on Tammy. Which we are going to film on Monday recess (11/18) We plan to do some of the recording at school and some at home. Because the school is rarely ever quiet. And I want to refilm the plan in action on Rebecca. The ending part of it. I want to get all the filming done by Tuesday. Then we have to record our voices because the background noise is really loud and we can’t hear anything. I think we’ll be done in 1 or 2 weeks. Then we can start on covers!!! The filming took a while because we had to set things up, look at the script and get to our positions. We communicated really well. We emailed, chatted, and reminded each other what to do and the scripts. It was mostly me doing the reminding. 😀

We learned that we filming a movie isn’t easy. We also found out that using an iPod to film is really hard because it keeps falling. So now we’re using my computer to film. Also, movie needs A LOT of planning. You can’t just say that you want to film the volleyball part. You have to think, “Are there people on the court?” “Is it raining?” “How will we film?” “Who’s volleyball?” “Which scene first?” “What do we wear?” There’s a lot of things we need to think about. I learned that some of us aren’t really good at acting… No offence though.
The sports scenes we are filming during A Block or on weekends. Because afterschool, before school, and recess there are people on the court. On weekends and lunch/recess we are going to film the other parts. Like the evil plan, the first day of school, the break up, the make up and others. On Monday we are going to film at lunch/recess doing either the first day of school or the break up/make up.
I hope to be able to finish a lot of scenes next week. I want to get at least the first day of school, the break up, and the make up done.

The Lorax

My favourite picture book from a long time ago is called The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss. IT’S SO AWESOME!!! I still like it. I have the book with me RIGHT NOW. And I’m reading it RIGHT NOW.

The reason why I like it? It’s kind of because it rhymes, and kind of because I really like the story. Even my tutor said that that book is cool. The rhymes are really creative.

This book is about the Once-Ler chopping down Truffula Trees to make Thneeds and being all greedy and selfish. Then the Lorax pops out (literally) and tries to tell him to stop. But the Once-Ler’s like, “It’s only one tree, I’m doing no harm.” Then the Lorax keeps saying, “I speak for the trees! For the trees have no tongues! You are crazy with greed, no one will buy that Thneed!” But the Once-Ler doesn’t stop and keeps making his company bigger and bigger and he plans on biggering and BIGGERING no matter what. Then he cuts down a whole bunch of trees, and the Bar-Barloots have to go away because there’s not enough Truffula Fruits. Then the birds go away, then the fishes. Then the last tree gets cut down. The Once-Ler doesn’t regret anything. The Lorax is really sad and flies away or something. Then the Once-Ler tells a boy many years later about that and tells him to plant a Truffula Forest. 😀

It’s cool how the author makes up random words. Like Swamy, Bar-Barloots, Truffula, Grickle, Gluppity Glupp, and Sloppity Slopp. He does that in like every book!

I think the Once-Ler is waaaaay too greedy. I feel like it shouldn’t be only the Lorax protesting, I feel like the whole world should be. The Once-Ler in the beginning only chops down one tree then says there’s no harm. AND LOOK AT IT NOW!!! The sky is all grey, the grass looks grey too, almost no life, no color, no Truffula. If I was the Lorax, I would walk over to the Once-Ler, scream at him, punch him in the face, then push him off the building, I mean seriously, you’re rich, you should buy a railing. AND LOOK AT THE BIRDS!!! They can barely climb the stairs and your making them fly for a long way to find clean air. And you’re making FISH WALK over to another body of water. 🙁 He should at least keep some SEEDS to plant them. And also save a lot of the trees. Like destroy I don’t know 20% or them. Not like 100%!!! Seriously…That doesn’t help anyone.

And it’s cool how there used to be a line in the book that was removed 20 years after it was published. It’s on the page where the fish are walking because the pond is so polluted. The removed line is, “And I heard things are just as bad up in Lake Erie.” In Geography class, I learned that in the 1970s, the Great Lakes were seriously polluted. Now it’s better!!! 😀 <3
