I am 19 years old and I was with my boyfriend Louis Tomlinson, who is 21 years old. We were just sitting on a bench like normal people. It was 10:00 at night. It was really dark. There weren’t any street lights. So you had to stare really hard to know something’s there. Our car was 3 metres in front of us. Then we heard footsteps. We didn’t think much of it. Then we heard a rapping by the car. We froze. Louis whispered, “What was that?” I replied that I didn’t know. We decided to stay there. Because walking away would make noise. We would run if it’s needed. Then I heard a man talking, “C’mon get out. I’m waitin’ ” It must have been a man. He thought we were inside. Then he broke the window and I made the biggest mistake of my life. I screamed. The killer, whipped his head around and me and Louis ran. Faster than we ever had. We could hear his yelling at us and telling us to stop. I looked back and saw something flash in the moonlight. A knife. I thought killers used guns these days. Oh well. Good thing though. So we ran toward the library and banged on the door. When that didn’t work Louis broke the window and we jumped inside. I was bleeding from the shards but I didn’t care. I so wish I wasn’t wearing shorts and a T-Shirt. See, we’ve been in the library millions of times because I just love books. So we knew our way in the dark. We ran as quietly as we could up the stairs and kept running to the 3rd floor. We got to a long hallway. I told Louis to help me close as many doors as we can and hide in one room. He got the message. We went around slamming random doors and got inside another right when the killer came. Inside was a work desk with hundreds of papers on it, a sofa, a coffee table, a bookshelf, and a bathroom. Louis told me to hide under the sofa because the first place the killer would look was the bathroom. He used the telephone to call the police. We could hear someone running around opening doors, switching on lights, and slamming the doors again. All Louis said was “Please help, there’s a k—” before the killer burst into the room, knife in hand. I got a good look at him. He was about 6 feet tall. He was dressed in dark colours and had a white sack over his head with holes for the eyes and the mouth. Must be stinky in there. He turned on the light and was stabbed Louis in the upper arm. He screamed like a girl and fell down. Then I pulled the Sack Head’s leg from under the table. He fell down but quickly got back up. He completely didn’t realize that there was probably someone near him to make him fall down. He thought that Louis had somehow done that. Stupid. Or maybe not. He looked under the sofa as I tried to crawl out. He grabbed my leg and sliced it making blood pour everywhere. Incredibly disgusting. Then I heard something and realized something, we weren’t alone. I saw the door get flung open and some lady started yelling at us that the library’s closed and that we’re destroying property and it’s vandalism and we’re going to get arrested and that we are really bad kids and that we are in big big trouble. We tried to warn her but she wouldn’t listen. She was all, “No excuses, the library closes at 9:00, that was an HOUR ago!!! That was an expensive window you broke, you even broke the hinges on the door, AND the light switch. Save your words for the trial.” Then she finally seemed to notice the knife Sack Head was holding. I wonder why he didn’t strike yet, maybe he got confused, I guess that conversation wasn’t part of his to-do list. Lady, was it that hard to notice that we’re seriously hurt? Come ON!!! She screamed and ran out. The police FINALLY CAME. Then Sack Head threw the knife at Louis in frustration but missed. He started to punch me. Then the police came in and I blacked out.
I woke up in the hospital. I was in a bed next to Louis. The nurse told me that I had 3 broken ribs and had a broken jaw. Louis would survive and that he would be out of the hospital in 2 days. I could go tomorrow. I noticed that a lot of cameras and reporters were here. They all gave me space and they were taking millions of pictures. They didn’t ask questions they kept talking to each other about us and something like…the Phantom? What was that about? Maybe they weren’t here for me. When I was released. The reporters asked me a bunch of questions like, “What happened? Were you scared? What were you doing before it happened? Did you know that librarian? Do you know who the killer is? Do you know anything about the Phantom?” I tried to answer them all, but I didn’t know anything about the Phantom. They explained that in Texarkana there was a serial killer who killed a lot of people. They said my and Louis were the 4th and 5th survivors. Sack Head/Phantom confessed that he killer the others and he was sent to jail for life. Never to bother us again 🙂
So yeah this is the story I wrote for the iBooks Author project. My book is called You Don’t Want to Be a Victim of the Phantom! Before the librarian woman got hurt but I deleted that because it’s kind of scary and creepy. To me anyway.
