The main character is a boy and his name is Chris. He’s in 6th grade. The setting is at an american school.
I was getting ready for the most boring subject, math. As the teacher talked about the importance of math, fractions, decimals, integers, blah, blah, blah. I was too busy staring at the new girl, Clarisse. When the teacher called on me, I just said I don’t know.
“PAY ATTENTION!!!” the teacher screamed I kept staring.
“Now who can tell me…..” I wasn’t paying attention. When the bell rang, I immediately went out. Gym was the best subject. I’m really good at it. We were playing basketball today. I stole the ball every time I made the ball in every time. The only other person who was close to being good as me was Dan. He’s my worst enemy. When I shot in the three pointer, with him glaring at me 2 metres away, my team cheered. Clarisse came and congratulated me. I thought this was going to be the best day ever, but that was when a bullet impaled itself in the ball I’m holding.
People were screaming as more bullets rang out. The teacher told us to get inside. It was a good thing the basketball court was close to Ms. Silverstein’s classroom. We went inside. We explained that there were bad guys coming. Ms. Silverstein immediately told us to lockdown and she called the office to make an announcement. My hand suddenly was in pain. I looked at it and realized that my hand was woundedI risked a peek outside the window. Somehow, the bad guys didn’t know we were in here, they must have been shooting from a distance. Then the door got flung open and an armed gunman came in.
Some people ran out the door but then another man came and held it closed. Some people got shot, as he was about to shoot Dan, I came out of my shock, I knew I had to do something, even if Dan was my enemy. I took my water bottle, crept behind the gunman, and brought it down hard. The guy crumpled. Then the other turned toward me, taking his eyes off of Clarisse, she kicked the gun out of his hand. And he whipped around and I had to do something quick. I could throw baseballs really well. Now I have to put that skill to use. I threw the water bottle right at the guys face right when he snatched the gun of the ground and shot me in the shoulder. The other injuries weren’t as serious as mine, since the gunmen were just shooting randomly, most of the injuries were in the hand, leg, or arm. Then the police finally arrived.
The police arrested two other gunmen and dragged the unconscious ones away. The ambulance took everyone away. I lost conscious. When I awoke my family sobbed. They said that I was a hero. I stopped many deaths by knocking them unconscious. When I could go home 2 weeks later, there was a scar on my hand and my shoulder was better. For days reporters came with cameras. When I went to school again, people kept staring at me and Dan even said thanks. We became good friends. Clarisse smiled at him in gym. This was the best day ever.
Wow! This book might be interesting! I really like the part when the accident happens. You use many nice word to show the accidents urgent and anxious , and make the story very vivid. You did a nice job!!! But what is the title of this story? Is it “How I Survived a Massacre” ?
