What is Yu-Gi-Oh?
Yu-Gi-Oh is a card game from Japan. You can own as many cards as you want, but in a game deck you can only have 40 to 60 cards. There are 7 kinds of cards: monster, spell, trap, fusion monster, ritual monster, synchro monster, and xyz monster cards. Every monster card has one of the 6 elements: dark, earth, fire, light, water, and wind. Also, every monster cards is one of the 20 species, like insect, plant, fish, warrior, etc.
The goal of this game is to defeat your opponent, by using your cards to damage their life points to zero. Each player starts with 8000 life points. To play the game you need a coin, dice, counters, monster tokens, calculator, card sleeves, and two game mats to play the game. There are six phases to play for your turn. Draw phase, you draw a card at the start of your turn. Standby phase, some cards have an effect that needs to activate at the standby phase, then you can activate the effect of the card. Main phase one, you can summon monster cards or activate a card’s effect and set spell and trap cards. Battle phase, you use your monster cards to attack your opponent monster, or your opponent, but the first player who goes first cannot go to the battle phase in their very first turn. Main phase two is the same as main phase one, you can summon a monster (if you have not summoned it in main phase 1), use a card effect, set a trap or spell card. End phase, you announce that you end your turn. If you can’t make a move in a battle phase you can skip it, but it is the only phase that you can skip.
You can get lot of good but cheap Yu Gi Oh cards in special cards store. For example usually a card in a normal store will sell NT 100, but in the special card store it only sell NT 30! There are lots of different kind of rare cards: common, rare, super rare, ultra rare, gold rare, and ghost rare. The best thing is you can sell used cards in the special store. One time I went to the store to sell used cards and I got NT 230 for just selling one card. So selling used Yu Gi Oh cards is a good way to make money.
I started playing Yu Gi Oh because my cousin showed the card game to me 4 years ago. But at that time I think it was boring. After watching the cartoon of the card game I started to play Yu Gi OH. I think it’s an interesting game. You need a lot of strategies and you need to be good at math too. Every summer I play Yu Gi Oh with my cousin in America. We would see how strong each other’s deck after one year. That is why I like playing Yu Gi Oh. Do you like it?
