🎈”Life is a gift, Don’t forget to live it.”

We all received this gift, but have we opened it?

🔮New Experience/Risk Taking is a Pleasure🎭

Many of us never opened this gift, because, throughout our life, we are only limiting ourselves in the comfort zone. Life is all about pleasure, pleasure isn’t only about happiness, it could be sadness, fear or anger. In Everything, Everything, Maddy was told that she could never leave her house for her entire life due to SCID, but did she go out? Of course! For what? For pleasure. She experienced happiness when she finally sees the ocean, she experienced fear when she almost drowned in it, and most importantly, she experienced the sweetness and bitterness of love.

By trying out something new, we learn and experience new things, and sometimes, it’s just worth it to sacrifice comfort for something that adds more colors to our life.

🇹🇼Making Film Oversea 🎬 A Brand New Experience🇺🇸

The Connection Between Film Project and Everything, Everything.

Everything, Everything is all about trying new things and risk-taking, it is interesting how the theme of the book corresponds to our project, working with overseas students is a brand new experience to me, and I definitely found pleasure during this project, I’ve met new friends, my partners were very active, and I personally believe the project was successful, I think “risk-taking” contributed to this project a lot.

Before the project started, Paul and I found my partners Kaitlyn and Nora on Social Media, we briefly introduced about ourselves, and started to talk about school, sports and most importantly, we discussed the exotic foods which are a topic both of us love. It was nice to meet two new friends who live on the other side of the world, and all it takes was some courage to say “hello!”. The 4 of us all stepped out from our comfort zone by being more proactive, consequently, it made the project easier because we communicated very frequently. This reminds me of Maddy in Everything, Everything, If she never stepped out from her house, she would never discover the fact that she wasn’t sick, and would never discover the beauty of the ocean.

Process: Script&Storyboard

Producing a film with overseas partners is harder than I thought, we faced a lot of challenges, I believe the biggest obstacle was time, the time zone between my partners (Kaitlyn and Nora) and I is very different, therefore, the only possible time we could communicate with each other online was during the weekends, and usually we could 30 minutes during schooldays if one of us stayed up late enough. Nevertheless, my partners still showed their best effort, Kaitlyn and Nora stayed up until 11 pm. Which was during my English class, and we could discuss the project in class through Instagram. We also had different perspectives, Kaitlyn and Nora thought it would be better if we used love as a theme, Paul and I thought it would be better if we used Friendship as a theme, it was hard to communicate efficiently due to differences in time zones, but we eventually came up with using Friendship as a theme. Even though I haven’t gotten the video yet, but I believe Kaitlyn and Nora are trying their best, it might take some time because our script and storyboard are very complicated, a week ago, Kaitlyn showed me their process and updated her status about their current progress on the film production, I believe the video will be out soon. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience working with Kaitlyn and Nora.
