In unit 4 we explored about energy, we had done several research projects to show our knowledge to this unit, we also had a debate in which we had to apply our knowledge to the debate, for this project, I chose wind power as the “best” energy resource due to its efficiency and how cost-effective it is to generate electricity, debate was a really great activity for us to apply our previous knowledge to the project, and it improved many of our skills based on IB learner profile, such as knowledgeable, communicator, thinker, and inquier, we could demonstrate more than one skill on learner profile, I demonstrate communicator through this project because I communicated with my teammates and discuss how to debate, throughout the discussion, I think I was being a thinker becuase we had to think a way or ways to provide counter arguments to the opponent’s debate team. Lastly, I think I was also being an inquirer and demonstrated knowledgeable because I asked questions for more information about wind energy and apply my knowledge to the project.
I think what makes my persuasive essay more persuasive is I provided reliable and detailed evidence, I also showed contradictory evidence to the readers which make the whole essay sounds more reliable, even though I provided contradictory evidence, I argue with my evidence at last, such as providing as many solutions I could and tell the readers using wind power is actually better than using other energy resource and then provide why the other energy resources are not the best choice to generate power. I used a technique of providing the cons of other energy resources and provide the pros of wind power.
